After a couple of weeks of technical disruption and holidaying Hope Lies at 24 Frames Per Second ought to return to normal next week. Expect belated analysis of Super 8 and The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes from yours truly, the latter of which has spurned what will hopefully be an interesting and lively Wednesday Debate, alongside features on all manner of assorted greatness. A brief season on the work of Pedro Almodóvar is planned to tie-in with the theatrical release of the Spanish director’s latest work, The Skin I Live In, which will also bring with it “Parts”, an examination of the Body Horror sub-genre, featuring the likes of Cronenberg’s Crash and eXistenZ, Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby and Aronofsky’s Black Swan. We’ll also be launching “Seven Months Later…”, a unique spin on the very concept of the retrospective article, and Alex will be reporting from the floor of this weekend’s Empire Big Screen event.
So yes, apologies once again for the slower than usual pace around these parts over the last fortnight, regular service is now resumed.
