It’s a quiet bank holiday Monday for home video (we’ve not actually seen any of the “new” flicks. For shame.).
Please feel free to use the comments section below to let us know if we’ve missed anything. Monday Blu(e)s and DVD’s is produced in association with Film@Home, the British Video Association’s digital hub for the promotion of Blu-ray. More information on Film@Home can be found on their Facebook page.
Las Acacias – We’ve missed out on seeing Argentinian director Pablo Giorgelli’s feature-length debut on several occasions last year. Both the press and public London Film Festival screenings were skipped by happenstance, and regular press screenings and theatrical release passed us by too, alas now, finally, we might catch hold of the directors road movie.
Texas Killing Fields – Everything about Texas Killing Fields sounds fantastic, from the solid cast (Jessica Chastain leading the way) to the familiar credentials of director Ami Canaan Mann (Michael is her pa), alas a mid-London Film Festival theatrical release meant that the film passed us by upon initial release. We’re looking forward to checking it out thanks to this Blu-ray release.
Die Hard Quadrilogy – From what we understand this marks the bow of Die Hard With A Vengeance, aka “the best Die Hard film” in high definition. The series as a whole isn’t that bad, either. While we’re not as great a fans of the first film as many are, there’s a certain charm to each film in the series.
