This is just a quick reminder that Hope Lies at 24 Frames Per Second launches this weekend at the Derby ID-Fest. We’re working really hard behind the scenes to ensure that everything goes swimmingly, and are very excited to be getting started. There are some amazing plans in the pipeline, taking us well in to 2013. For those of thee unable to attend, programme notes will be available online shortly after the screening. For tickets, head here.
Programmed in conjunction with Derby Quad, Hope Lies at 16 Frames Per Second (16 Frames Per Second for short) will launch at Quad’s annual ID-Festival (for more on that click here), before returning on a bi-monthly (every 2 months, not twice a month) basis.
For this, our inaugural screening we’ve decided to go with a real-crowdpleaser, in the form of F.W. Murnau’s Sunrise. Its also appropriate that it’s quite possibly our favourite film from the silent-era. Alongside the screening there will be an introduction from yours truly, as well as extensive programme notes in both physical and iPad-enhanced format and the opportunity for fervent discussion post-screening. Hope Lies are involved in all manner of exciting things at this years ID-Fest, including taking part in a panel of bloggers and podcasters that will be discussing the critical discourse and the online world.
