Today begins the London Film Festival, and with it comes a wealth of coverage from Hope Lies at 24 Frames Per Second. A freshly pressed article focussing on a specific film will appear on the site each day, while Twitter will serve as a means of projecting thoughts on the rest of what’s captured. Rather than producing a round-up of absolutely everything that is screening at the festival we thought it more valuable to produce a piece of work of a healthy word count concentrating on an individual film, especially as Periodical #4 will feature such a collative article.
The festival kicks off with a Gala screening of Paul Greengrass’ Captain Phillips tonight, with satellite screenings taking place all over the country.
Tomorrow we’ll open up proceedings with our first extensive write-up of a film screening at the festival, with a look at Frank Simon and Roman Polanski’s documentary Weekend Of A Champion.
