Monday Blu(e)s And DVD.

It’s a  solid start to April in matters of home video.

819CMz63OJL._SL1500_Pit Stop. Arrow Video continue in their celebration of the work of Jack Hill, with a well-produced edition coated with supplementary material.

The King Of Comedy. Coming soon on the back of a wonderful new restoration, Martin Scorsese’s pitch black meditation on celebrity reaches Blu-ray in the kind of edition such a film deserves. A new Q&A with the film’s key three collaborators is accompanied by almost 40 minutes of deleted scenes. Shame about the artwork though.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug. The second Lord Of The Rings prequel is a marked improvement over the first. Still, best wait for the extended edition due to fall ahead of the third and final films release later this year.

Circus World. Relatively unusual fare for this John Wayne vehicle. We’ve not seen the UK disc, but the European equivalent was well-recieved.
