Monday Blu(e)s And DVD.

The most unfairly maligned film of last year finally arrives in the UK.

The Canyons. 2013’s most under-appreciated film sees Paul Schrader collaborate with Bret Easton Ellis, James Deen and Lindsay Lohan to fascinating effect. Our full review of the film can be found here.

Man Of Marble. A somewhat forgotten masterpiece of mid-70s Polish cinema from Andrzej Wajda. The film was deemed noteworthy enough to be reviewed twice in the same issue of Cahiers du cinéma, while Jean-Luc Godard spliced a reel of the film in to his own Sauve la vie (qui peut), a reworked version of his own Sauve qui peut (la vie).

12 Years A Slave. Steve McQueen’s film is one of the most affecting mainstream films of recent years. Rightfully celebrated. Our full review of the film can be found here.

The Trip To Italy. Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan reunite with director Michael Winterbottom for this very, very funny romp around Italy. Also available in a two-pack with the original The Trip.
