This year marks the tenth anniversary of outdoor screenings at Somerset House. A combination of British premieres and archive favourites fill the London skyline between August 7th and 20th.
The two-week long event opens with the UK premiere of the Dardenne’s Two Days, One Night, while the Nick Cave orientated 20,000 Days On Earth also makes its bow at the event.
An extensive line-up of classics both old and new forms the backbone of the season, with The Royal Tenenbaums, Annie Hall and The 400 Blows just three of the films screening this year, while the festival’s famous double-bills sees A Fistful Of Dollars paired with Mad Max 2, the original version of Hairspray alongside Spring Breakers, and 80s favourites Big Trouble In Little China play next to Ghostbusters.
On top of all of this, the public can vote for a special tenth anniversary screening, while an exhibition of film posters created especially for the event runs concurrently with the film programme.
