A new year in home video begins, with the first Monday Blu(e)s And DVD of 2014. What better way to begin the year than with the best film of 2013?
Frances Ha. Not only was Noah Baumbach’s film the most enjoyable of 2013, but it’s a real contender for the year’s greatest surprise too. Apprehensions of yet another tale of overprivileged hipsters wallowing in first-world woes soon gave way to a heart-felt, extraordinarily cine-literate piece of work, with a star-affirming turn from Greta Gerwig. More on Frances Ha can be found here and in our round-up of 2013. We’ve also mused over the excruciatingly ugly artwork bestowed upon the film here.
Reblogged this on DRESS UP DAY. and commented:
Frances Ha only come second to Blue Jasmine for me this year – and it’s still pretty close.
